CORE TECHNOLOGY

 METASORB's superhydrophobic coating technology is a PFAS‑free, two‑layer surface‑engineering system that marries a patented, cross‑linked polymer with a customisable nanocomposite top layer. The polymer layer anchors atomically to metals, glass, plastics, and composites, delivering long‑term adhesion and chemical/UV stability. A subsequent nanoparticle spray imparts micro‑ and nanoscale roughness, forming a self‑cleaning skin that repels water, oils, and microbes. Our competitive edge is durability —while most commercial water-repellent coatings wear away quickly, our proprietary technology remain intact through abrasion, UV exposure, and harsh cleaning, ensuring long-term performance and compliance with tightening environmental regulations.  

WORLD CLASS R&D

 The coating is the result of more than 5 years of focused R&D led by Professor Antonio Tricoli, and Professor David Nisbet. Their combined expertise drove the technology from concept to commercial‑ready performance.  

 

  • Superhydrophobicity:  water‑contact angle 160–163 °.
     
  • Antimicrobial: > 99 % reduction within minutes.
     
  • Abrasion resistance:  industry-leading abrasion resistance.
     
  • Chemical stability: maintains performance after 24 h in acid.
     
  • Outdoor exposure: still superhydrophobic after 12 months weathering trials.
     
  • Corrosion protection: no rust after 30 days seawater immersion; scratches remains protected.
     
  • Optical clarity: > 90 % light transmittance on glass.

 The customizable nanocomposite layer enables us to precisely tailor our spray coating technology for a wide range of applications, including:


  • Protective paints — self‑cleaning topcoat that resists stains, graffiti, and weathering.
     
  • Marine hulls & ballast systems — anti‑corrosion, anti‑fouling shield that cuts drag and fuel use.
