In October, the METASORB team travelled to Melbourne to participate in Creative Destruction Lab (CDL), joining an exciting community of entrepreneurs, researchers, industry leaders and founders working to bring innovative technologies to market.

The experience provided an opportunity to engage with people at the forefront of deep-tech innovation, exchange ideas and gain valuable perspectives on the challenges and opportunities involved in developing and commercialising emerging technologies.

Connecting Technology with Industry

For METASORB, participation in CDL represents an important part of our broader journey to bridge the gap between technical innovation and real-world industrial applications.

With our work spanning advanced materials, protective coatings and membrane-based water treatment engineering, opportunities to engage with experienced entrepreneurs and industry specialists are invaluable in shaping how we continue to develop and commercialise our capabilities.

The conversations throughout the program reinforced the importance of combining strong technical foundations with a clear understanding of industry requirements.

Building Relationships Across the Water Treatment Industry

Alongside our participation in CDL Melbourne, the team also met with clients and industry partners across Melbourne to discuss developments and challenges within the water treatment sector.

These discussions provided further insights into the operational and engineering requirements facing businesses, while allowing us to explore potential areas for collaboration.

From membrane selection and process engineering through to independent technical assessments and emerging surface technologies, these industry conversations continue to help inform where METASORB can deliver practical value.

Looking Ahead

As METASORB continues to grow, maintaining strong connections across both the research and commercial sectors remains a key priority.

Experiences such as CDL Melbourne provide opportunities to challenge our thinking, build relationships and strengthen our understanding of the industries we aim to support.

We would like to thank the Creative Destruction Lab team, the mentors and fellow participants, and everyone who took the time to meet with us throughout our visit to Melbourne.

We look forward to continuing these conversations and building on the relationships established.
