METASORB’s superhydrophobic coating technology is a PFAS-free, two-layer surface-engineering system designed to repel water, oils, and microbes while maintaining durability across demanding environments.
METASORB’s superhydrophobic coating technology is a PFAS-free, two-layer surface-engineering system that marries a patented, cross-linked polymer with a customisable nanocomposite top layer. The polymer layer anchors atomically to metals, glass, plastics, and composites, delivering long-term adhesion and chemical/UV stability. A subsequent nanoparticle spray imparts micro- and nanoscale roughness, forming a self-cleaning skin that repels water, oils, and microbes.

The coating is the result of more than 5 years of focused R&D led by Professor Antonio Tricoli and Professor David Nisbet. Their combined expertise drove the technology from concept to commercial-ready performance.
